Luxury Maldives Holidays

Unparalleled luxury, astonishing natural beauty and an incredible underwater world

Venture to the middle of the Indian Ocean and you’ll find a tiny tropical nation, known to the world as paradise.

With some of the best beaches in the world, a dazzling underwater world and world-class luxury resorts, it’s easy to see why the Maldives are renowned as heaven on Earth.

The country is comprised of nearly 1,200 islands, spread across 26 ring-shaped coral atolls, and only 200 of these islands are inhabited. Of the inhabited islands, 100 are home to the world’s best luxury beach resorts, with each resort encompassing an entire private island.

The private island resorts are reached by seaplane and speedboat transfers from the capital of Male. The short plane trips are a wonderful way to catch your first glimpse of the atolls, perched like twinkling diamonds in the psychedelic blue ocean.

As you enter your lavish resort, you’ll find dreamy overwater villas, designed to offer an immersive natural experience and unrivalled opulence.

Expect private pools, suspended day beds, private wine cellars, outdoor showers, personal butlers, in-room massages, and terraces that are perfectly positioned to soak up the spectacular sunsets.

Maldives resorts are typically fringed by astonishingly white sands that feel like fine powder beneath your toes, and as you dip into the warm, crystal water, you’ll discover rich coral gardens, magical caves and thriving marine life.

The Maldives has some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world, and you’ll encounter technicolour tropical fish, green turtles, manta rays, whale sharks and dolphins on your scuba diving adventures.

When you’re not underwater, you can fill your days with rejuvenating spa treatments, adrenaline watersports, sailing trips and island hopping, and special dining experiences such as picnics on a deserted island or a romantic dinner of fresh seafood under the stars.

While the Maldives are revered for their staggering natural beauty, they are also at risk of disappearing. As the earth heats up due to climate change, the world’s glaciers and icebergs are melting, leading to rising sea levels.

With the increasing threat of climate change and rising sea levels, the low-lying Maldives are at risk of going underwater. There is a real concern that this island paradise won’t even exist in a few decades or even years.

Consequently, the governments and resorts are stepping up to the challenge of sustainability, implementing ingenious methods of reducing waste, and energy and water usage.

They’ve set the bar for hotels and resorts around the world, proving that you can practice environmental sustainability, without sacrificing first-class standards.

Best times to visit Maldives

It’s always warm and nearly always sunny in the Maldives, with temperatures rarely dropping below 25 degrees Celsius and average highs of 30 degrees Celsius. The best weather occurs between late December and April, with blazing sunshine, clear skies, low humidity and prime diving conditions. The high season falls between December and March, with soaring prices and crowds.

The monsoon season runs from May to October, peaking around July. You’ll still experience warm, sunny days, although you’ll encounter frequent downpours and tropical storms. The rainy season sees fewer crowds and lower prices, and you can spend a rainy afternoon enjoying a drink and a massage. The wet season is also the best time for surfers, with bigger waves and better swells during these months.
